A-Level Students Celebrate Results
As a school, we are delighted with the results achieved by our students.
Mr Wallace, Headteacher, "These are demanding qualifications requiring extensive knowledge, skill and application. Everybody involved should be proud of what they have achieved. As a school, we are delighted with the results achieved by our students."
Our staff have worked tirelessly to ensure so many of our students are able to progress onto further education and study. The overwhelming majority of young people have got the grades they need to progress to a range of exciting destinations. Some of our highest achieving students were Kirusika Sivayogan, Jacob Golding, Tom Brotherton, Lauren Ingram, Liam Browne, Alfie Smith, Stuart Woodhouse and Lara French. Congratulations also to the following students whose grades showed they made the most progress from GCSE: Alice Southall-Webb, Esme Fleeman, Jacob Golding, Grace McConnell, Alfie Smith and Lola Parton.
Since the introduction of the so-called English Baccalaureate in 2011 the number of A Level entries in creative arts and technology subjects has fallen significantly. This makes it all the more pleasing that our first cohort of Architecture (Design Engineer Construct) Level 3 Diploma students were particularly successful. Indeed, many of the students are planning to study the subject at university or take up employment in the sector.
Last night was probably not the best night's sleep for some students and their families but now they are finally in a position to firm up plans. We wish everyone the very best, whether they are going to university, a higher-level apprenticeship, employment or taking a gap year.
