Application Process Timeline

31 January 2025 - Application deadline

This is the date by which we need to have received your full and finalised application.

By Easter 2025 - Taster Day invitations

Invitations to Taster Day

We will invite all students whose predicted grades indicate they are likely to meet our entry criteria to our Sixth Form Taster Day.

The invitations are sent by email.

All students whose predicted grades indicate they are unlikely to meet our entry criteria will be emailed to inform them of that and to advise that they continue to look for alternative post-16 options.

23 June 2025 - Taster Day

Sixth Form Taster Day

A brilliant opportunity to sample a 'day in the life of a Sixth Form student' and to have a go at a lesson for each of your chosen subjects.

Invitations for students who appear likely to meet the entry criteria will have been previously emailed to you.  Please check your spam/junk folder.

Summer 2025

Enrolment tasks

All students wishing to attend our Sixth Form must complete enrolment tasks.  There is one task that all students have to complete, without which students cannot attend in September.  Some subjects set specific enrolment tasks which need to be completed before students can attend lessons for that subject.

21 August 2025 - Enrolment Day

Enrolment Day

On 20 August 2025 (the day before GCSE results are issued) we will email you an enrolment form.

On 21 August 2025, after receiving your GCSE results, all students who have previously completed the application form (see above), who meet our entry criteria, and wish to take up a place in our Sixth Form must complete the enrolment form.

Once your GCSE results have been checked to ensure they meet our entry criteria, we will begin offering Sixth Form places in line with our Sixth Form Admissions Policy.

At this point, if you have registered details with us but ultimately choose not to join us, any information we have regarding your application will be destroyed in line with our Data Protection policy.

Application Information

Entry Requirements

Our minimum entrance requirements are five GCSEs at Grade 4-9.  These must include English Language and Maths.

However, many of our subjects and enrichment courses have specific criteria.  Please see the Subject Entry Requirements at the bottom of this page for full details.

Please familiarise yourself with our currently available subjects available by going to our 'Subjects Offered' page.

Subject Blocking

Every Sixth Form has blocks for their subjects.  Without these, they cannot build a timetable.

We create our subject blocks based on the applications we receive each year.  In almost all cases, we are ultimately able to offer students their preferred choices of subjects.

Therefore, we invite students to apply for whichever subjects best suit them.

Once the blocks are created, we will contact the small number of students who would not be able to follow their preferred courses.

Allocation of Places and Over-Subscription

Places in our Sixth Form will be allocated according to the criteria outlined in our Admissions Policy.

Please be aware that we have a maximum number of students we are able to offer places to, and cannot exceed this.

Places will not be offered to students who do not meet our general and subject-specific entry criteria.

Oversubscription

In the event that there are more students wishing to join our Sixth Form than we have places for, and/or more students wishing to join a particular subject than we can accommodate, we will allocate places according to the over-subscription criteria in our Sixth Form Admissions Policy.
